Multimedia Mail System
Multimedia email systems allow users to use the richness and more varied forms of other media types (such as graphics, images, animation, text and video) to convey the intended meaning of the message. Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) is proposed for transmission of multimedia messages. Multimedia mail (mmail) is implemented according to MIME standard. Integrated view of message in reading and composing is provided by mmail. Messages are managed by folders in mmail. A command window for extensive manipulation of folders is also provided by mmail. POP3 support and a newsreader are provided by mmail. POP3 allows a workstation or PC to dynamically access mail from a mailbox server.
